Throughout the Covid-19 crisis Lymington Cat & Kitten Rescue has remained fully committed to the best possible treatment of the animals in our care. The response from our many friends and supporters has been magnificent and we thank you all for your donations, co-operation and kindness.

We are now in a position to offer a restricted, Covid-secure rehoming service as a “stepping stone” towards the anticipated restoration of normal measures later this spring. Details are as follows:

Our Highfield Avenue rescue centre in Lymington continues to operate and we are still able to take in cats and kittens, subject to conditions. Priority will be given to emergency cases, but whatever the situation we will always try to help if we can.

If anyone requires assistance with the care and rehoming of queens and kittens – no matter whether tame or feral – please do not hesitate to contact us on 01590 678663 or 07739 109029.

Over the past few months we have received many adoption requests and we are now in a position to offer a limited, Covid-secure rehoming service. Many people have registered an interest and priority will be given to those already on our waiting list. We cannot promise to find a cat for everyone but we will do our best to meet as many requests as possible. Please don’t call us – we’ll call you!

Please be aware that only a limited number of viewing “slots” will be available each week and we must insist that prospective adopters visit individually and not with family or friends. You will be required to wear suitable PPE and respect social distancing protocols. A routine “home check” forms part of the adoption process and it will be of great assistance if you can film a short  “virtual tour” of your property. For further information call 01590 678663 or 07739 109029.

If you have registered your interest in adopting a kitten, please bear with us. It is unlikely that any will become available until April at the earliest – but when they do, we will work through our waiting list and offer viewings as and when possible.

We are aware that kittens are often advertised for sale on social media sites – sometimes at sky-high prices. Please exercise extreme caution and be sure to distinguish between the genuine, responsible advertisers and those who are breeding for profit, with little or no regard for the health and welfare of the animals.

Subject to confirmation, we look forward to reopening our charity shops in Lymington, Milford-on-Sea and New Milton on Monday 12 April. In the meantime you are welcome to reserve any item offered for sale in our window displays; call 07739 109029 for details. Please DO NOT leave donated goods outside any of the shops (see below).

Your offers of goods to sell in our shops are much appreciated, but PLEASE contact us first as we remain under lockdown restrictions and may not be able to collect or accept delivery immediately; either email or phone 01590 678663 or 07739 109029.
